Hello Folks,
I love to share my Faith In Jesus Christ, and stories about growing up in the most wonderful Country in the World, The United States of America. And in the most wonderful part of that Wonderful County, the South; yes I am showing favoritism.
I have spent my entire life in the South. I love it! The South loves the U.S., Jesus, and the American way.
I have made my entire career trying to help people achieve their career goals, personal life goals, and to grow and mature as responsible humans, contributing to their family, and their community,
I believe that we all have great gifts to contribute to our fellow man, and to not do so is a travesty. Through out many cultures, young people grow-up listening to mom, dad, grandparents, aunts and uncles tell stories about the various generations. This is what helps to establish heritage and roots in a family. Conversations about community, faith, and overall life lessons about love, life, grief, laughter, fears, hopes and dreams are relevant to a successful upbringing in every society, especially the South. How else would one possibly learn that, "...... nothing can happen to you, that is not common to man", that is found in 1 Corinthians, 10:13. What a wonderful comfort to know that what ever you are going through, you ain't the first person that it happened to, and you won't be the last person it happens to. As they say, "it came to pass." Thank God!

Education and Life Experience
University of North Alabama
Florence, Alabama
Northwest Shoals Community College, Phil Campbell, Alabama
I am a sinner saved by the grace and mercy of our Lord, Jesus Christ. I am a husband for 40+ years to my wonderful wife, Brenda. I have a son who has a beautiful wife, two outstanding athletic, grand kids and I have a great little male Yorkshire Terrier named Sully. I have managed three National Restaurant Chains as Multi-Unit management for over the first 12 years of my career. I have held positions from General Manager, Area Supervisor and Division Director for some of the largest names in the business in their respective concepts.

In 1991 I left my first love, restaurants, and joined the largest independently owned and operated Aluminum Extrusion Die and Tooling manufacturer in North America. I also helped manage one of the largest industrial seating manufacturers in the World. I worked in several positions within this new field, but I have always been included as a managing contributor of every company with which I have been associated .This was a career change for me in which I was very successful using my business and management acumen, especially in employee relations and motivation.

I left manufacturing in 1997 to open Jones Restaurant Management Company, Inc.. with the help of my wife, Brenda. Under the company I opened three restaurants, The Ivy House Restaurant in Tuscumbia and Sheffield, Alabama; Coralee's Restaurant in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. In 1997, I also opened TRS Restaurant and Equipment, LLC in which I purchased and sold used, refurbished restaurant equipment and consulted on various restaurant start-ups and design all from our offices in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. In 1999 I opened a clothing consignment store called Southern Reflections in Tuscumbia, Alabama, a landscaping business called Jones Building and Maintenance, LLC, a cleaning business called LaSweep Savers, LLC. I had an absolute blast operating these businesses, but I did wind up selling or closing the various businesses and returned to manufacturing management in 2006.

I have enjoyed a wonderful career in business management, and still today I continue to consult on start-ups and restaurant kitchen design. I love food and I include a lot of Southern food discussion and recipes in my blog. For the past 17 years of my career, I am a Professional in Human Resources and Federal, State, and Local Compliance expert in DOT, EPA, OSHA, and DOL. I am also a Certified Safety and Health Manager, by the Institute of Safety and Health Management. I have allowed these designations to lapse as I enter retirement. But it has been a fulfilling and generous career.
I hope you enjoy your time spent here and I am always open to conversation and hearing your thoughts and stories too!
